Of course, proud as we are of our own presence there’s much, much, more to see and do at the show. First off there are new bikes galore, including Honda’s hugely anticipated VFR1200 Crossrunner,  Kawasaki newbies the Z750R and Ninja ZX-10R, Norton’s Thunderbird Storm 700, Ducati’s Diavel and Aprilia’s Tuono V4R.

You can also try your hand at a bit of star spotting as Jorge Lorenzo does the opening honours and scores of racers and celeb riders grace the show. Where else might you find the likes of Hollyoaks babe Gemma Atkinson and Blue heartthrob Simon Webbe alongside track gods such as Leon Haslam, James Toseland and Tom Sykes whilst Broc Parkes, Troy Corser and Sylvain Guintoli?

There are thrills and spills too with daredevil freestyle motox displays in the Ramp’d Up arena and the chance to get yourself some  off road action Yamaha’s off road and enduro experiences.

In short it’s one hell of a show. If you make it you can relive those memories right here on Insidebikes – and if you can’t, well check out our gallery and review to see what you’re missing!

Also making its public debut is a gem of a classic, a brilliantly restored, real rarity.  Just two 200cc, four cylinder, two-strokes were produced by Bert Fruin in 1961 and bike buff Martyn Harris is bringing one to the NEC. Brilliantly restored by Noisy Toys the Fruin bike was originally sold in kit form but was short-lived due to the complexity of is design and high cost. With hindsight its not hard to see why. The engine was sold as unmachined castings, the four coil, four breaker electrical system crude. The restored bike is, though, nothing short of a masterpiece. You can get a flavour by checking out the restoration gallery posted on the Noisy Toys website at www.noisytoys.tk

As if these magnificent machines weren’t enough reason to visit Carole Nash Motorcycle Live, there’s also the tempting draw of the twelve finalists in the Britain’s Got Biking Talent competition. These are drawn from across the contest’s six categories – Sports, Classic, Choppers & Customs, Streetfighters, Concours & Restored and Street Modified – so there really is something for everyone to ogle!
