Bikers to star at Goodwood Festival
James Toseland, Jonathan Rea and John McGuinness will be amongst the motorcyclists headlining this year’s Goodwood Festival of speed, which will feature more than 60 riders and racers from the world of motorsport.
McGuinness, the fastest man ever to lap the Isle of Man TT circuit will be joined by fellow TT racers Cameron Donald, Keith Amor, Guy Martin, Sammy Miller and Ron Chandler at the festival, which runs from July 1-3.
Joining them will be Freddie Sheene, son of World Champion Barry, who will be riding the Icon Sheene motorcycle up the challenging 1.16-mile Goodwood hillclimb.
This year’s festival will pay homage to iconic Indianapolis 500, which celebrates its centenary this year, and will feature more than 30 significant Indy cars throughout the weekend.
As usual, Formula One also enjoys a presence at the festival, with Sir Stirling Moss, John Surtees, Jochen Mass and Peter Gethin, alongside the current voice of F1 on the BBC, Martin Brundle. The Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren-Mercedes, Red Bull, Lotus-Renault, Mercedes GP, Williams-Cosworth and Team Lotus F1 teams will also make an appearance at the festival, which takes place one weekend before the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Tickets are available now from www.goodwood.com.
