BMW on course for sales record

BMW Motorrad has reported a 6.1% increase in sales to the end of November, putting the company on target to deliver 103,000 motorcycles in 2011.

As of the end of November, BMW Motorrad had shipped 100,054 motorcycles worldwide, an increase of 2,007 on the same period last year, with 6,112 bikes being delivered last month – a 3.9% increase on November 2010.

The figures put BMW on course to deliver 103,000 more vehicles than ever before in its nearly 90-year history.

Husqvarna Motorcycles, a division of BMW, delivered 7,956 motorcycles in the first eleven months of 2011 (prev. yr. 10,266 / -22.5%). November accounted for 1,181 deliveries (prev. yr. 1,650 / -28.4%).

Overall BMW group sales were up 14.5% on the previous year, thanks largely to a 22.4% increase in sales of its MINI division.
