Lynch will be at the NEC Bike Show on Tuesday 1 December.

The fact anyone can have a go on a bike without making any financial commitment is an amazing opportunity

Boyzone star Shane Lynch will try out the Get On interactive experience unit at the Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, at Birmingham’s NEC on Tuesday 1 December. Lynch is the latest star to back the Get On campaign, which aims to give 100,000 people a taste of life on two wheels.

Get On is an innovative campaign to promote the benefits of motorcycles and scooters and offers anyone over the age of 16 a free one hour taster session on a scooter or motorcycle by registering at www.geton.co.uk. The campaign will be unveiling its state of the art mobile experience at the Show which runs from 27 November to 6 December.

Lynch, who enjoyed six UK Number 1 singles and four UK Number 1 albums with Boyzone, has been a lifelong fan of motorbikes and will be visiting the Get On experience unit as he encourages more people to enjoy the benefits of life on two wheels.

The 32 year-old, who has also starred in ITV’s Mr and Mrs and Love Island while also winning Channel 4’s The Games said, “I’ve always loved the thrill and sense of freedom which bikes give you but they offer so many practical benefits too.

“It’s proven that riding bikes or scooters can dramatically cut commuting time, and probably most importantly in the current financial climate they are far more economical to run that four wheeled vehicles.

“I’m really looking forward to going to the Bike Show at the NEC and giving the Get On session a go. The fact anyone can have a go on a bike without making any financial commitment is an amazing opportunity.

“I’ve also heard that there is a motorcross off-road area which is open to the public. I used to race a bit in motorcross so it will be fun to give that a go as well.”
