Buell assets go under hammer

The assets of the now defunct Buell brand will be going under the hammer at a liquidation sale later this month.

The sale on 28 January 2010 will include everything from manufacturing, tools and warehouse equipment through to articulated trucks and even the boardroom chairs following the closure of the brand by Harley Davidson late last year.

In total, more than 1,000 will be up for auction, conducted by Michigan-based Liquid Asset Partners.

“Buell had a great run as a quality American motorcycle with fans worldwide,” said Liquid Asset Partners CEO Bill Melvin Jr. “Buell spared no expense in making their beautiful bikes and in purchasing the factory equipment. There is a tremendous interest in the equipment and vehicles left in the factory and there are so many tools nobody will go home empty handed.”

Company founder Erik Buell has since re-launched the brand, opening a racing bike shop titled ‘Erik Buell Racing’.
