Capirossi thrilled by IOM experience

Loris Capirossi described riding at the Isle of Man as an “incredible” experience that he will never forget as the Rizla Suzuki rider completed a promotional lap at the TT this weekend.

The MotoGP veteran, who will ride in his 304th Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend, made his way around the Isle of Man for the first time this week, the first ever lap of the island made on a modern-day four-stroke MotoGP machine.

And the Italian was obviously impressed by the experience, claiming that the a lap of the 37.73 mile circuit is an experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world.

“This place is incredible,” he claimed “I’ve seen the TV footage before, but nothing prepares you for the TT course. The surface is much bumpier than I imagined and when you see the speeds that these guys run at, it is simply amazing.

“I said before that I think these guys are crazy – and I still think that – but when you ride the circuit you realise that it’s really exciting and you know why they come here to race. I had a great time here – it’s a fantastic event that you could never replicate anywhere else in the world and I am sure I will come back again!”
