Estate agent swaps office for overalls

A well-known Derby estate agent is set to swap his usual shirt and tie for overalls after getting a unique opportunity to become a pit helper with the Motorpoint Yamaha British Superbike team later this month.

Nick Hall has been mad on motorbikes for as long as he can remember so when the Motorpoint Yamaha team launched a competition to help out in the team garage at the world-famous Brands Hatch circuit, the 42-year-old, who runs Home2Sell on St James’s Street in the city, jumped at the opportunity.

And, now he is getting the chance to live-out his boyhood dreams when he joins up with the team on April 25 for the start of the 2011 MCE British Superbike Season. Earlier this year Motorpoint Yamaha launched a nationwide search to become a helper through its website – www.motorpointbsbteam.com – receiving entries not just from the UK but also Europe.

Says Nick: “I don’t mind admitting that I am motorbike mad and so I can’t wait to be in the garage on race day with the guys helping preparing the bikes, especially as I’ll be working alongside one of my all-time heroes Rob Mac, the team manager. I still remember to this day going with my dad in the 1980s to watch him race against the likes of Haslam and Mackenzie at Donington Park!”
