Fourth convicted in M40 shooting
A fourth man has been found guilty of the murder of Hells Angel biker Gerry Tobin following a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.
Malcolm Bull, 53, from Milton Keynes was found guilty of a firearms charge, making him the fourth person to be convicted in connection with the shooting of Mr Tobin on the M40 motorway last August.
Simon Turner, 41, of Nuneaton, and Dane Garside, 42, of Coventry, were convicted of murder on Monday. Sean Creighton, 44, of Coventry, has admitted murder whilst the jury yet to reached verdicts on three other men.
Karl Garside, 45, Dean Taylor, 47, and 46-year-old Ian Cameron have all pleaded not guilty to murder and firearms charges.
Tobin, 35, was travelling to his home on from the Bulldog Bash motorcycle show in Warwickshire when a Rover car, driven by members of the rival “Outlaws” gang, pulled up alongside his Harley Davidson on the M40.
Mr Tobin was then shot twice, the first shot passing under his helmet, killing him instantly. The second shot struck the bike.
The trial heard that Mr Bull was the gang’s “spotter”, who identified Tobin as a “fully patched” member of the Hells Angels at a service station in Warwick.
The trial will continue today in the case of the other three men.
