Harley XR1200 race series 2010
MSVR have announced that the Harley-Davidson XR1200 production race series is go for 2010, with rider and team registrations now open.
The series has been in development in 2009, with celebrity riders like Sean Emmett and ex-GP racer, and BSB champion Niall Mackenzie in action, testing the distinctive XR1200 flat-tracker machine. Now the tuned proddie bikes will form part of the BSB programme in 2010, with the XR1200 Trophy series spread over ten rounds.
Two H-D UK dealers have already signed up for the action, with Blade Motorsport, representing Oxford and Cheltenham H-D, taking part in parade laps at the BSB meeting held at Silverstone on 27th September. Warr’s H-D of London, one of the longest established Harley dealers in the UK, have also committed to take part in 2010, with three bikes entered in their name.
For £13,000 an aspirng club racer gets a Harley XR1200, a season-long tyre deal with Dunlop, entry fees to ten races, plus a tuning kit developed by Harris. Compared to buying your own club racing bike, plus all spares, tyres, tuning parts, entry fees etc, it represents good value.
“Our plans to launch the series in 2009 were perhaps too ambitious,” says Greg Willis from Harley UK, ” but with the extra year of development we’ve had with Harris we now have an exciting race package. To sell four bikes before the season starts is good news.”
Anyone with an ACU Clubman licence is eligible to enter and there’s further info at your local Harley dealer, or email xr1200trophy@rbpinternational.com

November 13th, 2009I’ve got my XR1200 prepped and ready to race. Bad part is though I’m in St. Louis, MO USA. If I can find a way to get over there, I’d give you Brittish boys a run for your money. I’ve been carving up the roads on my Evil Knievel XR1200 just looking for a fight. Good luck men—there are many who wish to be in your shoes for this race.

January 28th, 2010I sincerely hope my friend Sean Emmett is going to be involved in this exciting series after all the time and effort the mans put into demoing and developing the racing Harley,Sean is a sensational rider and will undoubtedly add some real spice to the series in his own unique style,i hope our American friend Charles has been able to enter the series as if Sean has got anything to do with it he will have to ride the wheels of it to stand a chance, very best wishes with it all chaps, can hardly wait.

March 27th, 2010Looking forward to seeing you back in the saddle Sean you will be the man to beat and good luck to all the other riders in the series coz they are gonna need it. I hope you are all up for locking handle-bars and swapping paint as this will be the norm if you want to take on the man from Weybridge. SMOKE EM SEAN
