Indian airmen break world record

A new world record was broken by the India Army Service Corps at the weekend as they broke the record for the highest number of people on a single motorcycle.

The skilled airmen decided that one pillion passenger was nowhere near enough as they set out to break the previous record of 48 people, set by the Indian Army, on board a 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet.

As part of the record, broken at Yehlanka Air Force base in Bangalore city, the motorcycle had to travel for a distance of at least 1km without anybody falling off but the team managed to pass that milestone in the process, riding just over 1,100m.

No modifications were made to the motorcycle’s engine, with the only alterations being made to the motorcycles structure in the form of some framing to accommodate the participants.
