Lakeside Harley opens doors

Following months of preparation, the Lakeside Harley-Davidson dealership opened its doors last weekend to celebrate its official launch bash. The flagship store saw hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts turn up to be part of this successful opening including a fleet of more than 50 motorcycles on a ride-out from the Wickford A127 diner where they enjoyed a complimentary breakfast beforehand.

As well as hosting a live band and various in-store promotions and competitions, the West Thurrock showroom held activities for all the family. Visitors took advantage of the refreshments and HOG Roast on offer while they browsed the new and used Harley-Davidson^® motorcycles and the thousands of genuine Harley-Davidson Parts, Accessories and MotorClothes^® on display.

Customers also got the chance to view a wide range of models in the 2011 line-up including the recently launched Sportster^® SuperLow^{^TM} starting from a great OTR price of £6,050. In addition, Essex resident Mr. Staley’s visit to the showroom was extra special by him being the first customer at Lakeside Harley-Davidson to take collection of his own brand new Fat Boy® Special. The team at Lakeside handed over the keys on Saturday 2 October to Tim and presented him with an engraved miniature model of the legendary motorcycle brand to mark the occasion.

The Fat Boy Special^® motorcycle was produced to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of the iconic Fat Boy^®motorcycle in 2009 – ridden by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2: Judgement Day. This model remains one of the most popular motorcycles ever to roll out of the Harley-Davidson design studio and with the Fat Boy Special^® dressed in satin chrome and denim black, this motorcycle retains the bold presence of the standard Fat Boy^® while offering a fresh interpretation.

“It’s taken a lot of preparation, but we’re really excited about our new premises,” says Lakeside Harley-Davidson Dealer Principal Guy Konig. “The launch was a great success and we are now looking forward to our first year of trading and we look forward to celebrating our first birthday this time next year with the fantastic new friends and customers that we have made so far.”
