Lorenzo passes Spanish bike test

Former MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo is now allowed to ride on the streets of Spain after he passed his motorcycle test this week.

Whilst the 24-year-old Yamaha rider, who became MotoGP world champion in 2010, has been riding Grand Prix motorcycles competitively since he was 15, he has never held a civilian driving licence that would allow him to ride on public roads.

But Lorenzo posted on his Facebook page earlier this week that he had passed his Spanish motorcycle theory test and that he now has a motorcycle licence.

Lorenzo captioned the image with: “Although it sounds like a joke, I just pass the motorcycle theory test! (sic)”.

To obtain a motorcycle license in Spain, candidates must answer 40 questions about Spanish traffic laws in 40 minutes, which are taken out of a 300-plus page manual.
