Scottish arisocrat hit with ban
A Scottish aristocrat has been banned for nine months after caught travelling at more than 102mph in the Scottish borders.
Lord Glamis, heir to the title of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, pleaded guilty to travelling on a motorcycle at 102.16mph on the A68, a road with a speed limit of 60mph, on 23 May 2010.
The 24-year-old was also fined £500 by Sheriff Kevin Drummond after the court was told that his licence had accumulated 23 penalty points due to various speeding convictions.
Lord Glamis, who was charged under the name Sam Patrick Glamis, was not present at court as he is currently working in Zimbabwe.
