Suzuki launch new GSR750

Suzuki lifted the curtain on their new middleweight naked, the GSR750, at the Cologne INTERMOT Show yesterday, alongside two other new models in the GSX-R series.

The all-new GSR750, which Suzuki claims offers “a blend of the modern and the futuristic with a powerful 749cm3 four-cylinder fuel-injected engine”, is based on a tweaked version of the engine found in the GSX-R750, with revised cam profiles, intake and exhaust tracts and a 12.3:1 to provide strong, linear torque starting at low RPM. The valves have also been set at a narrower angle, increasing torque in the mid-range whilst improving fuel efficiency and emissions.

The chassis is based on a compact tubular street bike frame and a twin-spar sportsbike frame and features 41mm KYB inverted front forks and an adjustable rear KYB shock absorber.

With styling a large consideration in the bike’s development, the GSR750 is completed with a modern, vented headlight shell, integrated instrument cluster, moulded rear-view mirrors, light and open radiator side panels and aggressive front bodywork.

Suzuki also unveiled new editions of the GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, which include upgraded features based on it’s MotoGP programme.

All three models set for their UK debut at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live at the NEC in Birmingham from 27th November – 5th December, more information can be found by visiting www.suzuki-gb.co.uk or by visiting the GSX-R600 and 750 microsites at: www.gsx-r600.eu and www.gsx-r750.eu.
