Toy runs this weekend

There are several charity toy runs this weekend, as bikers gear up for Christmas. It’s your chance to put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas Day, even if they are stuck in a hospital ward.

Bill Smiths in Chester have their annual toy run this Sunday, 14th December, with assembly at the Boughton, Chester shop around 10.30am, with a 12 noon start time. Bring a wrapped toy, clearly labelled for a boy or a girl, or a donation, to the Countess of Chester Hospital, all riders are welcome. Some clubs are riding in to join this run, like the BSA Owners Cheshire, who are leaving the Whipping Stocks pub around 10am, located on the A50 Holmes Chapel road, out of Knutsford.

Meanwhile, down in London, the Ace Cafe are expecting a good turnout for their annual Toy Run. Again bring a wrapped pressie, which will go to one of three hospitals in Paddington, Lambeth and Fulham. The start time is 10.30am on that one. Find out more at www.ace-cafe-london.com.

Brit bikers on Merseyside can join in the Aintree run on Sunday, find out more by calling British Bikers Club on 07784 790 454. The Yorkshire Suzuki Bandit owners are assembling at Sun Inn Harrogate at 11am for their toy run, call 07971 911 685 to confirm, as the weather forecast for the North of England isn’t that good.

Harley riders in Torbay will be meeting around 11am for their run, more at; www.harley-davidson-hangout.com on that one, whilst scooter fans can join the midland scooter club on the 14th, leaving McDonalds at Birmingham City football ground at 10am. More at; www.midlandscooters.com.

Fancy dress and thermals are recommended by the way. Ride safe and happy Christmas!
