Yamaha announce 2012 line-up

Yamaha will make their special edition 50th anniversary colour scheme available on their range of motorcycles for 2012.

The red, white and black colour scheme, used by Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo in this season’s MotoGP championship, will be available on selected bikes in 2012 the company has announced, with a new Series Grey colour option also available.

Based on the famous red and white ‘speedblock’ design originally featured on Yamaha’s pioneering Grand Prix race bikes in the 1960s and 1970s, this classic yet contemporary WGP 50th Anniversary colour scheme will be available on the YZF-R1, FZ8, YZF-R6, YZF-R125 and Aerox in 2012.

The Yamaha R1 is the only model in the 2012 range to see any notable changes, with a number of electronic and aerodynamic upgrades and modifications designed to enhance both its overall performance and controllability, including six-stage traction control.
