Zero electric launch 2010 range
The MCI Media test day is a chance for journalists outside the goldfish bowl of UK motorcycle magazines to try out various machines. One brand which received plenty of interest was Zero electric bikes, with their 2010 range launched at the event.
Susan Finn from Zero UK told insidebikes that bikes were booked solid all day and many non-specialist publications are now starting to run more features on electric motorcycles.
“We had one outdoors magazine very keen to see the Zero bikes being used in places like Centre Parcs, or off-road adventure places where noise is a big issue for local residents. We would also love to see Boris Johnson take a lead and allocate some space in East London where clean, and quiet, trail bikes can be used.”
Press from across the country and from a diversity of publications tried out Zero Motorcycles’ latest range which includes both performance and aesthetic changes. The 2010 range includes the revolutionary Z-Force Air Induction System on the Zero S and Zero DS models, enabling Zero Motorcycles to produce more horsepower from lighter and more compact motors by increasing the airflow through the heart of the motor. Zero Motorcycles is also introducing a new throttle technology that modulates the increased power to provide riders with exacting control over the acceleration.
All 2010 motorcycles are powered using Z-Force power pack technology with new and more precise cell monitoring. The cumulative result of all this technology is a longer power pack life, more power, greater acceleration off the line and superior handling.
Edwin Belonje, Zero Motorcycles Director of Sales & Marketing in Europe, said. “We were very excited to bring our entire range of 2010 Zero Motorcycles to the MCI Media Day; the diversity of press attending the event ideally suits the diversity of the range of bikes available from Zero Motorcycles. We have a motorcycle to suit all two-wheel enthusiasts, from extreme sports such as motocross and cross country riding, to road riders and city commuting.”
