Andrews sits out of Brands test
Simon Andrews for forced to sit out of Thursday’s BSB pre-season test at Brands Hatch after crashing out of an earlier test at Mallory Park.
Andrews sat out today’s session at Brands Hatch as a precaution after sliding out at Mallory Park earlier in the month although teammate Julian Da Costa did manage to clock up the laps on Thursday to give MSS Colchester Kawasaki some data to work with ahead of the new season.
The team had turned down the opportunity to test with the Kawasaki World Superbikes team in Spain this weekend but opted to test at the venue for round one of the British Superbikes Championship.
Team owner Nick Morgan said: “It was a shame for Simon and his crew yesterday but nevertheless, we did enough laps to extract some strong data. This has confirmed that the work we have done in the workshop over the winter months has really worked.
“There are some significant changes to our bikes for the 2009 season and clearly these are a really bold step in the right direction.
“We may be down to one rider temporarily but Julien is massively experienced, mentally very strong and also very quick and professional. He will continue to spearhead the development work while Simon’s bruising subsides. The bruising to his ego may take slightly longer to heal, though.”
