Aragon signs MotoGP deal until 2016

The Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain will host MotoGP races until 2016 after agreeing a new contract with championship promoters Dorna.

The circuit, which claimed the ‘Grand Prix of the Year’ award in its first season after being named as a replacement for the cancelled Hungarian Grand Prix, will host MotoGP events for the next five seasons.

Last year’s event at Motorland Aragón, which took place in September, was enjoyed by 116,000 people who attended the circuit across all three days of the Grand Prix, with 70,000 present for race day on the Sunday.

The deal confirms the Aragon event as the fourth Grand Prix hosted in Spain, together with Jerez, Valencia and Barcelona.
