Blusens launch GP2 contender

Blusens have become the first European team to unveil their Moto2 contender after announcing they intend to test and develop the bike well before the new world championship gets the green light in 2011.

The 250cc Grand Prix class will be replaced by Moto2 in 2011, but some teams are already working on getting a head-start by launching their 600cc four-stroke entries, with Dorna already suggesting that teams will have the option of testing their 600cc machines in certain races in 2010.

Blusens BQR became the first to launch their contender this week at a launch ceremony in Madrid and confirmed that the new Honda-BQR Moto2 would be competing in the Campeonato de EspaƱa de Velocidad (CEV) in Spain in an attempt to give bike some competitive miles.

Daniel Rivas will be riding the bike in 2009 before likely rides in 2010 ahead of the new championship launch. There is also the possibility of Brit Scott Redding securing a ride on the new machine, having signed with the Blusens 125 team for 2009.
