Brookes had a controversial debut season in BSB.

I am definitely excited about coming back and I now know the whole process so there won't be any of the issues I had at the start of this season.

Josh Brookes is determined to rebuild his reputation in British Superbikes with HM Plant Honda in 2010 after a difficult maiden season.

The Australian rider had a tough year in 2009 which was fraught with controversy despite some credible performances, eventually finishing fourth in the championship,

Problems in obtaining a visa due to tightened immigration regulations meant that Brookes was unable to race at the season opener at Brands and the former World Supersport rider was then slapped with a two-round suspension for reckless riding following his part in a multi-bike accident at Mallory Park.

But Brookes is brushing all of that aside in 2010 and is determined to demonstrate what he can do in front of the British fans.

“I am definitely excited about coming back and I now know the whole process so there won’t be any of the issues I had at the start of this season,” Brookes told the official BSB website.

“I come back for my second season knowing the tracks, knowing the competition and having more of an idea of what to expect, whereas last year was my first season so it was all unknown.

“I have an advantage now as I am back home in Australia training hard and keeping myself sharp; I have been motocrossing and that speed and focus translates to road racing so I am feeling strong.

“I am feeling really positive about 2010 and ready to take steps forward with the HM Plant Honda team next year as soon as we start testing.”
