Kawasaki Superbike Team 2009
Kawasaki UK have announced their Superbike team for the British Superbikes series 2009.
MSS Colchester Kawasaki will run two riders, Julien da Costa from France and Simon Andrews, a veteran of the R6 Cup series. 24 year old Andrews scored 18 top 10 finishes in BSB 2008, whilst da Costa is the World Endurance Champion 2008 and had a wild card entry in the Cadwell Park round of BSB last season with Nick Morgan’s MSS Kawasaki Team.
Kawasaki UK have enough faith in the team to sign a `multi-year’ deal with MSS Colchester Kawasaki and expand the team to two riders, rather than just the one campaigned last year.
The deal should help raise the overall profile of BSB, which has lost some of its top riders to WSB for 2009, as well as key sponsorship from Rizla, who backed the Suzuki team for the last four seasons.
