Mallory; Karl Harris Looking For Top Five Finish
Following four top ten finishes from four starts on his Honda-Racing.co.uk debut in the British Superbike Championship, Karl Harris is aiming to retain a degree of consistency to his campaign aboard the Dunlop-shod CBR1000RR Fireblade.
Three top six finishes and an eighth place have illustrated the Sheffield rider’s promise in the world’s leading domestic series. These have cemented Harris’ sixth place in the points table – a credible position considering the depth of talent in this year’s series. However, never one to rest on his laurels, the triple Supersport champion is aiming to push himself into the top five of the 13-leg championship after round three at Mallory Park this weekend.
The 25-year-old Yorkshireman achieved a thrilling last lap victory at the track in 2004. This year, he has already been involved in battles for podium finishes with more experienced Superbike campaigners during the early stages of the series on the Dunlop/BLD-backed Honda-Racing.co.uk CBR1000R Fireblade.
Karl Harris: “We’ve had a good start to the series so far, but I’m never truly happy unless I’m winning – or at least on the podium. The team has been working really hard to perfect the set-up of the CBR1000RR Fireblade and find the best Dunlop tyres to complement the machine. I’m looking forward to Mallory Park to further prove myself after doing so well there in the Supersport class in 2004.”
