Byrne fighting fit for Cadwell

Byrne within touching distance of title.

At this moment in time I would say that I have recovered 95 per cent from my fall at Knockhill, but I will be back to full fitness in time for first practice on Saturday.

Shane Byrne claims that he is ready and fighting fit to extend his lead at the top of the British Superbikes Championship at Cadwell Park this weekend.

‘Shakey’ Byrne returns to action for this Bank Holiday weekend’s meeting for the first time since his huge crash at Knockhill two weeks ago.

That crash led to him throwing away a commanding lead in race two at the Scottish circuit but the Airwaves Ducati believes that he has recovered from the smash and is ready for the challenge of Cadwell and extending his commanding 112 point lead in the championship.

Byrne said: “At this moment in time I would say that I have recovered 95 per cent from my fall at Knockhill, but I will be back to full fitness in time for first practice on Saturday.”

“I really love the Cadwell Park circuit and, as always, my sole intention for going as quickly as I possibly can around there is to get back to The Mountain. I can’t go over it enough! I know that I gave the Airwaves Ducati team a lot of work to do after Knockhill so I want to repay them here this weekend with some results to really celebrate about.”
