Camier looking to bounce back

Leon Camier is preparing to bounce back from his crash at Oulton Park this weekend as the BSB series moves north of the border to Knockhill.

The Airwaves Ducati rider suffered a heavy fall during qualifying at the Cheshire circuit, forcing him out of the two races but now the Camier believes that he can elevate himself from fifth in the standings with a strong result this weekend.

Camier, who has been somewhat overshadowed by the form of teammate Shane Bryne, has seen his standing fall following strong recent form from Suzuki rider Tom Sykes and consistent performances from Honda riders Cal Crutchlow and Leon Haslam but believes that the right results can propel him up the championship, with third-placed Sykes just 13 points ahead.

“Oulton Park was a massive disappointment for me but since the moment we decided not to race, my focus has been on getting back aboard the Airwaves Ducati,” said Camier. “It’s been good to have a few weeks off to fully recover but I’m glad to be heading to Knockhill. It’s a circuit that I am confident the Airwaves Ducati can perform well at.

“My aim this weekend is to get my championship back on track so I need to secure some strong results for the Airwaves Ducati team and get onto the podium.”
