Crutchlow cleared for Assen
Cal Crutchlow has been passed fit to race at Assen this weekend, less than two weeks after suffering from a broken collarbone at Silverstone.
The British rider confirmed on Twitter yesterday that he has been passed fit my medics to race in this weekend’s Dutch TT after an operation last week.
Crutchlow went under the knife in the UK to have a plate and seven screws inserted into the broken collarbone and wrote on Twitter: “I have been passed fit to ride this weekend @ Assen after operation 1 week ago.
“Plate & 7 screws for broken collarbone. I can only try my best…”
Meanwhile, Dani Pedrosa will not race at Assen this weekend as he continues to struggle with his broken collarbone, sustained during a crash at Le Mans.
The Repsol Honda rider, who has already missed races at Silverstone and Barcelona, will be replaced by Hiroshi Aoyama on the factory Honda bike.
Aoyama, who rides for Gresini Honda, will be replaced by test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi.
