Crutchlow recovered after holiday injury

Cal Crutchlow has revealed that he has fully recovered from a minor injury picked up over the summer break and that he is ready to continue his good form at the Nurburgring this weekend.

Crutchlow, who is expected to be confirmed as Ben Spies’ replacement at Tech 3 Yamaha in MotoGP this weekend, dislocated his knee in a bicycle accident during the five week summer break but has allayed fears that will impact him this weekend.

Instead, the Yamaha rider is looking forward to backing up his double win at Silverstone back in August in Germany, where he has fond memories following last season’s victory in the Supersport class.

“I can’t wait to get back on the bike again”, he claimed. “Finally winning two races at Silverstone was the result of lots of hard work by the team and I.

“I want to get straight to Germany and hope to do it again. I always find the summer break too long and really miss racing so I’m happy it’s time to go again. I had a brilliant result at the Nurburgring last year; it would be perfect to repeat the success I had on the R6 Supersport bike on the R1 Superbike.

“I managed to dislocate my knee riding my bicycle over the holiday but it is pretty much back to normal now and will be fine for the races!”
