De Puniet recovering after ankle op
Randy de Puniet has undergone an operation to replace the screws from his left ankle after falling at Sepang back in October.
The Frenchman crashed out after just one lap of the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang and although the LCR Honda reported no serious injury, he did require precautionary surgery on his left ankle.
No complications were reported in this latest operations to remove the screws and the 28-year-old is fully expecting to return to Sepang in full fitness ahead of the official MotoGP test.
“It has been a very quick and easy operation,” said de Puniet. “After the crash in August I worked hard to get the best from the bike but sometimes it has been very painful for me.
“After the races my ankle was always very swollen but now I am very satisfied because the size is normal. I am going to remove the stitches in 18 days and after that will begin my rehabilitation training to be in good form at Sepang in February.”
