De Puniet signs new LCR deal
Randy de Puniet has agreed a new contract with LCR Honda that will keep him with the team for the 2010 MotoGP championship.
The Frenchman has ended speculation over his future after agreeing a new one-year deal with the privateer Honda team, with the deal part backed by HRC.
It will be De Puniet’s third consecutive season with LCR Honda, following some strong performances this year which included a third at Donington Park, and 28-year-old was delighted to put pen to paper.
“The 2010 season will be my fifth year in the MotoGP class. Honda are working hard to improve the machine and the LCR team is very professional,” he claimed. “They are like a family to me. We have got the potential to get positive results and we will be trying our best again next year.”
“We are very happy to work with Randy again next year”, added team boss Lucio Cecchinello. “He still has a lot of potential and our aim was to continue the project we started together in MotoGP in 2008. I am very confident about what we can achieve in 2010.
“We will work with the same style and with the same determination to take a step forward in the quality of our organisation and our on-track performances.”
