Ducati Test Halted By Rain
Hector Barbera, Vittoriano Guareschi and Franco Battaini were held back in their preparation for 2010 as a rain shower cut short their private three-day test.
As a result of the rain shower, Barbera was forced to lap with wet weather tyres on a Marlboro-liveried Desmosedici in a step away from the GP9 which he rode at the Valencia test. The move to the Desmosedici from the GP9 indicates an interest on Barbera’s part to try out the exciting new 2010 bike rather than stick to the GP9.
Battaini also rode a factory Marlboro red machine during yesterday’s test and will continue to ride today and tomorrow. It is likely that Battaini will take over some of Guareschi’s official test rider duties as Guareschi makes the transition from test rider to team management.
Former KTM 125cc star Marc Marquez made his Ajo Derbi debut yesterday in the slightly undesirable wet weather.
With two days of testing to go, it is hoped that weather conditions will improve for the riders.
