Ellison still searching for 2010 ride
James Ellison has revealed that he is still desperately searching for a ride in the British Superbike Championship next season following the withdrawal of GSE Racing.
Last year’s BSB runner up was left without a ride following the decision of GSE Racing, the most successful team in the series, to drop out of the championship due to financial shortfalls following the loss of main sponsor Wrigleys.
That has left Ellison searching for a new team despite having his best ever season last year and although talks are lined up in the coming weeks; it is still “nothing to report” as far as the former Hydrex Honda rider is concerned.
“There is nothing really that exciting to report at the moment,” Ellison told the official BSB website. “I have just been spending a lot of time in the saddle riding the bike outside, and indoors on the trainer when the weather decides to take a turn for the worse. The weather here is like nowhere I’ve been before – you can get sunburn one day and frostbite the next. It’s crazy!
“If I’m not pedalling, running or doing some form of exercise, I’ll be sending e-mails trying to sort things out for this season. I’m definitely ready to get back on a motorbike again. I hate being away from them for this long, as it feels like I’ve lost a limb! At the moment I’m so looking forward to getting out on my enduro bike when I get back to the UK, and also doing a spot of mountain biking with The Kendal Massive.
“I’m hoping my persistence this winter will have paid off and I can give my fans the news they have been waiting for. I have some meetings to attend back home this month, which will decide the fate of this upcoming season. It looks like it will be a really strong field this year, so I’d hate to miss out on the challenge!”
