Eurosport continue to screen MotoGP in 2011

Eurosport UK has renewed a deal to broadcast MotoGP in 2011, with the digital channel committing to showing live MotoGP from all classes next season.

After coming to a renewed agreement with MotoGP promoter Dorna, Eurosport will offer a full weekend of coverage with live coverage of pre-race practice sessions and qualifying for the MotoGP, Moto2 and 125cc classes. Eurosport will also continue to show live coverage of Moto2 and 125cc races as well as delayed coverage of MotoGP.

The BBC remains the exclusive rights holder for live MotoGP races, although the broadcaster did grant Eurosport permission to screen live MotoGP races last season, namely when the BBC had relegated races to coverage on the red button.

The 2011 season will also see the return of popular commentary team for MotoGP Toby Moody and Julian Ryder who will be on-site for the opening round of 2011 in Qatar and cover all the European rounds for Eurosport.

“Renewing our deal to broadcast MotoGP is great news for fans of the sport,” said Eurosport UK’s Managing Director, David Kerr. “We have been able to provide a very comprehensive package of coverage around race weekends which give them access to all the practices and qualifying in full. Motorcycle racing is an important part of Eurosport’s programming and I am pleased the loyal and passionate fans who follow our coverage can continue to do so to the same level in 2011.”
