Fabrizio looking to push on after South Africa win

Michel Fabrizio is hoping that his race one victory in South Africa can provide the kick-start that his season needs after a slow start to his title challenge.

The Ducati pair of Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga, despite being two of the favourites for the title this season, have struggled to keep up with the pace this season, with Fabrizio sitting eighth in the championship on 95 points, 127 behind championship leader Leon Haslam.

But Fabrizio appeared to rediscover some of the form that saw him finish third in the 2009 championship with a victory at Kyalami a fortnight ago and the Italian heads to Miller Park in Utah in confident mood, especially after securing a second and third place finish at the circuit last season.

“I’m looking for a great weekend at Miller as I like the track and the American crowds and I’d love to be back on the podium there, maybe even on the top step this time!” he said.

“I don’t know why but the track seems to suit my riding style and I’m really looking forward to going back there again. I’m in eighth position but with good points I hope to be able to catch the riders immediately ahead of me in the standings.”
