Fans support launch of Motorpoint Yamaha team
Motorbike fans from across the Midlands flocked to Derby for the official unveiling of the Motorpoint Yamaha British Superbike team at the weekend.
The car supermarket giant recently renewed its sponsorship of the Motorpoint Yamaha team for the 2011 season, which begins next month in spectacular fashion in front of the Eurosport TV cameras at Brands Hatch on April 25.
World Junior Supersport winner Loris Baz, 18, and British Supersport runner-up James Westmoreland, 22, were both on hand together with manager and former rider Rob Mac to present their new-look Yamaha R1 Superbikes to the public.
“It was great to see everybody at Motorpoint Derby ,” said Mac. “The riders and their bikes went down a storm. There is a good feeling about the team for 2011 and I am confident we will surprise quite a few people with our performances over the coming season.”
