Guintoli to Return to Caldwell Park

Sylvain Guintoli is anticipated to make his return to the British Superbike Championship at Caldwell Park over August Bank Holiday. This will be his first meeting since his accident at Donington Park which left him with a severe injury to his right leg; a broken fibula and tibia.

Guintoli completed a three hour test last night on a Worx Crescent Suzuki at Caldwell Park and is preparing for his return to BSB. Despite being out of action since the third round at Donington Park, Guintoli completed 43 laps and expressed that he is happy to be back on form and returning to the sport:

“It’s great to be back, I’ve missed it a lot. It has been a long time to not be on a bike and I could deal with it at the start, but then the time dragged by.  I did a brief ride last week on a superstock bike at a Mallory Park track day just to see if I could physically ride. That went okay so we came here with the BSB bike and went for the full test.”

“Now I’m looking forward to the racing in two weeks time. I’m not coming back for fifth place or anything like that, I’m not making up the numbers, I willl be as I always am one hundred percent into it.”

The test last night was the first time Guintoli had been on a superbike in around three months but his determination to complete as many laps as possible shows that he is more than ready to return to BSB at Caldwell Park and regaining his place as one of the top riders.
