Haslam happy with Suzuki progress
Leon Haslam has admitted that he is already growing in confidence having tested the Alstare Suzuki in Valencia and is growing in confidence over his title chances in 2010.
Having quit the cash-strapped Stiggy Honda team at the end of the season following an impressive campaign in 2009, Haslam secured a factory ride with the Alstare Suzuki team for 2010 to replace the German Max Neukirchner.
And Haslam has impressed already with the Alstare team and a strong showing in Valencia has the British rider, who finished sixth in the championship last season despite being with a satellite team, plenty of optimism for 2010.
“We’ve had a pretty solid test schedule since I joined the Alstare Suzuki Team seven weeks ago and I believe we’re on course to be at the front next year,” he told the WSB website.”
“I am really happy with the way things are going and I had another two days with the boys in the team last week. I have been happy with the consistency we had at the last test. I did three 1’34.0 laps of Valencia, which is very pleasing. I’m about a second a lap faster than I was in the races at Valencia this year and I finished fifth in both races, so I have to be optimistic about my chances.”
