Haslam to be sole BMW rider at Brno

Leon Haslam will be BMW’s sole factory representative at Brno this weekend, with Troy Corser forced out of the race with a broken arm.

Corser broke his arm at Aragon three weeks ago, leaving Haslam as BMW Motorrad’s sole presence on circuit for this weekend’s round in the Czech Republic.

Haslam has himself been struggling with injury problems after sustaining a fracture in his hand in Misano and the Derbyshire rider has admitted that he is heading to one of his least favourite circuits on the calendar in search of the points that he needs to continue climbing the rider’s standings.

“Brno is not one of my favourite tracks but still I am looking forward to going there and seeing what we can do,” he said.

“We have done a lot of work in testing and back at the factory so hopefully we will be in good shape once the weekend gets underway. In the past the BMW has been strong at Brno so I am hoping to continue that trend. I am just looking forward to getting on the bike again.”
