Hayden will test despite arm surgery

Ducati rider Nicky Hayden will test in Sepang later this month despite undergoing surgery to his right arm after last week’s test in Malaysia.

The American went under the knife in Madrid immediately following the first three day test of 2010 in Sepang last week for follow-up treatment on an ongoing arm-pump (compartmental syndrome) problem, a condition common in motorcycle riders, that was seen earlier in pre-season.

Hayden, who posted the seventh and eighth fastest times respectively on the final two days of the three day test suffered no ill effects from the treatment and Ducati confirmed in a statement yesterday that he will test alongside teammate Casey Stoner in Sepang on 25 and 26 February.
