Hill scores pole at Knockhill
Tommy Hill scored pole position for tomorrow’s first outing at Knockhill, after a dramatic qualifying session this afternoon.
As the riders made there way through the first of three qualifying outings it was John Hopkins who held the number one spot, having inherited the honour from Shane Byrne and Hill.
More drama came in the second session when Loris Baz and Alex Lowes were forced onto the side lines after both crashing out at separate times. As the session ended it was Hill who recorded the fastest time, as the time counted downwards to the final and most important session.
As the final chequered flag fell it was Hill in the prominent spot, ahead of a charging John Hopkins and a very determined Gary Mason. Fourth place was awarded to Michael Rutter, with Jon Kirkham fifth and Josh Brookes sixth. Seventh place went the way of Glen Richards, whilst James Westmoreland, championship leader Shane Byrne and Loris Baz completed the top ten.
Tomorrow is set to stage two exciting races at the Scotland-based circuit, and with its challenging twists and turns a thrilling day is guaranteed.
