Crutchlow and Haslam to ride in Donington WSB.

It's my local circuit and I've raced there many times so will be looking to make that count

HM Plant Honda riders Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow have earned wildcard entries for this season’s World Superbikes European round at Donington Park.

The duo, who lie fourth and second respectively in the British Superbike championship, will ride at Donington this September on regular BSB bikes.

The pair will be joined by James Ellison riding his Hydrex Bike Animal Honda.

The move will further fuel rumours that the HM Plant Honda team is looking to make the switch from BSB to World Superbikes for 2009 and the entry of both riders on a familiar circuit will provide the ideal testing ground for the duo.

Haslam, currently fourth in the BSB standings, is relishing the prospect of testing himself on the higher stage.

“It’s my local circuit and I’ve raced there many times so will be looking to make that count,” said Haslam. “I was second in both of those races earlier in the season and there is no reason which I cannot go better - the bike is good and I am determined to go for strong results.”

The announcement comes ahead of the British WSB race at Brand Hatch this weekend which will see British trio Tom Sykes, Chris Walker and Simon Andrews all line up as wildcard riders.
