Interwetten support Aoyama in 2010

Maltese bookmaker Interwetten has been unveiled as the new sponsor for the newest MotoGP satellite team in 2010.

The new single-bike Honda team, who will be represented by reigning 250cc champion Hiroshi Aoyama, will have the backing of the online bookmaker as the Caffé Latte team runs a self-contained MotoGP entry for the first time next season.

Interwetten, who have previously supported motorsport in Formula VW and the World Series by Renault, will also partner with Thomas Luthi next year for its Interwetten Moto2 team.

“Interwetten is one of the most modern betting providers in Europe,” said Wolfgang Fabian, Chief Executive Officer for Interwetten.

“Our dynamic innovation should also be reflected in our commitment to motorsports. Just like Interwetten, MotoGP stands for spectacular action, first-class sports and excitement until the last corner.

“Interwetten markets itself in countries such as Spain and Greece and also in Germany and Switzerland and, therefore, MotoGP is the ideal platform to increase the popularity of our brand in these countries.”

“We want to support Hiroshi in gaining experience in MotoGP and to establish ourselves together in the premier class,” said Epp.

“With Thomas Luthi, Interwetten made its first steps in the motorsports World Championship and was very successful. Especially in Switzerland, we are profiting enormously from Thomas’ popularity and image.”
