Kiyonari returns to WSB action after Suzuka endurance success.

Brands Hatch is a track I already know from my British Superbike years, so I will push hard for a good result.

Ryuichi Kiyonari heads to familiar surroundings this weekend looking to maintain the winning habit following his victory in the Suzuka 8 Hours event last weekend.

The Honda rider secured victory in Japanese endurance race along with Ten Kate teammate Carlos Checa and will return to World Superbikes action this weekend at Brands Hatch looking to relive previous happy memories.

The Japanese rider secured two British Superbike titles at the Kent circuit in 2006 and 2007 and, although he is not a huge fan of circuit, Kiyonari feels that his familiarity with the venue could give him the confidence to push on.

“I’m very happy with our win at Suzuka,” said Kiyonari. “This season I had to make many test sessions in Japan to set up the new Honda Fireblade for the 8-hours race, but now it has all paid off. Now I have to switch my mind to World Superbike.

“Brands Hatch is a track I already know from my British Superbike years, so I will push hard for a good result.”

Kiyonari currently sits ninth in the Championship in his debut season at WSB level after getting his season back on track with a fifth and sixth place finish in Brno two weeks ago following a poor results in Germany and San Marino.
