Lorenzo refreshed and excited for Brno

Jorge Lorenzo has admitted that he is looking forward to getting his title defence back on track this weekend at Brno after enjoying the MotoGP summer break.

After spending the summer break in the Dominican Republic, Lorenzo heads to Brno, the scene of an impressive victory for him last season, looking to close the 20-point gap on championship leader Casey Stoner in the rider’s standings.

The Mallorcan has a good record at the circuit with four wins; one in 125cc, two in 250cc and a last season’s success over Dani Pedrosa and Stoner that helped him to secure the rider’s championship.

And the Yamaha man is excited to be heading to the Czech circuit as he looks to kick-start his title defence in the second half of the season.

“After the long break we are going to Brno completely recharged and ready to fight and try to reduce the gap with Casey,” he claimed. “This is a track I like and where I won last year. I hope we can start the second half of the season on the podium.”

Lorenzo will also get a chance to test the new 1,000cc factory Yamaha on Monday at the circuit, a prospect that he is very much relishing.

“After the race we will be testing the 1000cc bike for one day. I am really looking forward to discovering the new Yamaha,” he added.
