Melandri cleared after shoulder scare
Marco Melandri has revealed that he has suffered a shoulder scare ahead of the 2011 World Superbike season.
The Yamaha rider, who will move to World Superbikes from MotoGP for the new season, reported that he had suffered an unexpected “big pain” in his shoulder yesterday through his personal Twitter page.
The 28 year-old former Ducati MotoGP rider said on his Twitter profile: “I had a big pain with no reason, that’s wierd”.
Melandri then went for a scan at a local hospital which revealed no problems, leaving the Italian to prepare for pre-season testing in the New Year.
“Everything is going good. I’m just getting old,” he later reassured his fans. “I need to be back on my R1 as soon as possible!”
