Morais heads to South African Superbikes
Former Kawasaki Superbike rider Sheridan Morais is heading back home for 2010 after signing for Aprilia in the South African Superbike Championship.
Morais, who rode with Paul Bird Kawasaki for the World Superbikes rounds in Kyalami and Magny-Cours, also impressed with two top-ten finishes during a wild-card ride in the British Superbikes triple-header at Brands Hatch back in August, but has struggled to hold down regular rides.
But the South African has agreed to head back to his homeland next season after signing the deal with Aprilia and has high hopes for his championship prospects next season.
“It’s a beautiful bike, and it feels like a 125 to sit on,” he claimed.
“In World Superbike and Superstock racing the guys are right there, so it’s definitely a contender and I can’t wait to ride it.
“The Aprilia RSV4 Factory arrives pretty close to race-ready so we don’t have to buy and set up new suspension.”
