Morais to stand in for Tamada at Brands
South African rider Sheridan Morais will be on the grid at Brands Hatch this weekend as the PBM Kawasaki team make the move from World Superbikes to BSB.
Morais will stand in for the injured Makoto Tamada at Brands Hatch as the WSB Kawasaki team take part in the British Superbike triple-header this weekend.
Tamada injured a finger during a race two crash in Brno last week, his first appearance back in World Superbikes after missing the preceding five rounds through injury, and although the injury is not thought to be serious, the Japanese rider will miss the team’s wildcard appearance at Brands as a precaution.
Morais deputised for Tamada at Kyalami and will be partnered by regular rider Broc Parkes this weekend.
Meanwhile, PBM Kawasaki have also announced a new sponsorship deal with fashion brand Henleys, which will see the name featured on the Kawasaki ZX-10 RR.
“We recognise the fast-paced environment our customers live in and aim to create collections with a distinct personality that enhance the wearer’s lifestyle so by linking up with Paul Bird and the Kawasaki Superbike Racing Team, that allows us to do that,” said Henleys Creative Director Simon Peters.
Team owner Paul Bird added: “We are delighted to welcome Henleys to our portfolio of distinguished partners and they are another recognised brand that adds vitality to our team. We feel their products reflect in what we are doing and look forward to a successful association, starting this week at Brands Hatch.”
