MotoGP calendar changed again
The MotoGP calendar has been amended once again after the Czech Republic Grand Prix was brought forward by one week to August 15.
Brno was originally due to host the Czech Grand Prix on August 15 before an amended calendar issued last week confirmed that, amongst a raft of other chances, the MotoGP paddock would visit Brno one week later than originally planned on August 22.
But championship promoters Dorna have released a third provisional calendar for 2010, listing Brno on the original date.
The change means that there is now a two week break between Brno and the Indianapolis Grand Prix and it is believed that the logistical nightmare that would be created by a transatlantic trip during a one-week turnaround is behind the decision.
There are no further changes to the schedule, with Silverstone retaining its recently amended date of June 20. Hungary’s Balatonring is still listed on the calendar despite suggestions of financial problems and construction delays, although the Motorland Aragon Circuit is on reserve should any circuit become unable to host its respective GP.
