MotoGP opener brought forward
The MotoGP season will start earlier than originally planned, with the opening race in Qatar brought forward to April 8.
In slight amendments to the 2012 calendar, the FIM confirmed that the Sachsenring will host the German Grand Prix, subject to contract – ending speculation that the German GP may move from the circuit amid concerns over the owner’s ability to finance the running of the event.
The calendar has also confirmed that a contract has been agreed with the Jerez circuit to host the Spanish Grand Prix.
The British Grand Prix will take place at Silverstone on 17 June.
