Muggeridge Breaks Xaus Record
Just 24 hours after Ruben Xaus set a new WSB lap record for Valencia, Karl Muggeridge posted an even quicker time in preparation for the latest round of the WSB championship on April 6.
DF Honda rider Muggeridge posted a time of 1:34.252 on the second day of practice, more than 1/100th of a second faster than the 1:34.265 recorded by Xaus on his Ducati the previous day.
Muggeridge was also more than 2/10ths of a second quicker than the next fastest Honda, ridden by Carlos Checa.
The former world Supersport champion was understandably thrilled by the result and had high hopes for the latest round of the WSB season.
“This bike has got a lot of potential”, said the Australian. “I didn’t go as well in race set-up but for the Spanish Round we’ll have some new electronic parts so I’m feeling confident. The DF Racing guys are doing a great job and I think we’re going to get some good results this season.”
Ducati Xerox’s Troy Bayliss and Michel Fabrizio were both absent from the session.
