Neukirchner partners West at MZ Racing

German rider Max Neukirchner will ride in Moto2 alongside former MotoGP man Anthony West next season, after singing for the MZ Racing team.

Neukirchner, who had a disappointing season with the Ten Kate Honda, tested with MZ Racing in Valencia earlier this month and has now been confirmed by MZ Racing alongside West for the 2011 championship.

West, a former MotoGP rider with Kawasaki, picked up three top ten finishes with the team last season and the new line-up is one that excites MZ CEO Martin Wimmer.

“In the most difficult of conditions Anthony scored three top-10 results for MZ,” he told MotoGP.com. “He also proved that in wet conditions he is always a good bet for a podium finish. He’s done a lot for us this year and we are happy to continue our great working relationship.

“Max also proved during his first laps on the MZ what he is capable of.”
